Songs Under The Radar: 10/19
Here’s the songs that are good enough for the radio, but lack the funds for it:
Zara Larsson is a fairly known artist, but people forget her hits. Most noteworthy is her appearances on red carpets and giving drug-influenced interviews. Over the past couple years, she produced a few hits featuring uplifting beats with sadder lyrics. This song is very similar to past work.
It seems that Major Lazer is dropping new singles every other week. This one features Tove Lo and features a Jamaican beat behind her. Between the beat, lyrics, and artwork for this single, it almost feels weird having Tove Lo sing this song. It doesn’t have any crazy drops either and continues this new era of Major Lazer.
The 1975 live up to their band name with this 70’s sounding song. The style reminds people of how music used to sound back in the days with use of certain instruments and vocal alterations.
The O’Jays are the relatively unknown band for this week. The song is very political about the Trump administration. But the minimalistic use of instruments makes it very nice to listen to while sitting in an office or living room setting.
Cher Lloyd is back making new music. None Of My Business is a simple tune with mind-numbing lyrics, but Cher Lloyd is able to produce a consistent sound that makes her pleasant to listen to. This probably won’t break any records, but it is easy listening.
