Food You Should Know About: 90 Sec Rice
Recently, I was introduced to a type of food that I should have expected to be in existence, but never looked for. That food was the 90 seconds rice. It’s a simple concept and all you need is a microwave. To cook, every brand I saw had a tear away top that you rip a little on both sides for ventilation. You toss in the microwave for just 90 seconds and let it cool before eating.
Many large chain retail stores such as Walmart, Target, Kroger, etc. have their own cheap brand selling between $1.50 and $2.00. Each of the large chain products have a very select type of flavored rice. These are probably the best deal for most busy and/or money-saving people.
For those willing to pay a little more, roughly only 25-50 cents more, Uncle Ben’s provided many more types of 90 seconds rice. Their website has 23 different types of rice to choose from. As I’ve been taste testing, my favorites are the Roasted Chicken and Cheddar Broccoli. They have a type for all different taste styles.
This type of product is so simple to make and is filling for quite cheap. It’s a little more expensive than uncooked rice, but your time is valuable too. It can be added to any food dish as well. Next time you are looking for a snack or just something to add to your lunch/dinner plate, try out these 90 second rice pouches.
