New To Netflix: February

DVD Release Dates: 1/29

After a busy beginning of January, we are back with some DVD releases. A lot of TV shows are coming to DVD this week, such as Ballers, Crashing, Kidding, and Doctor Who. Because most of these are on premium channels, it is the perfect time to catch up on the shows you missed.

Also Disney is putting out The Nutcracker and the Four Realms, which was a massive flop at the box office.  We will have to see if it flops with DVD sales as well.

DVD Releases This Week: 1/16

Halloween is finally out for home viewings.  If you are confused how this story fits in the series, luckily for you, you only need to watch the original first two to understand.  But if you are in a binge mood, have fun with all the alternative universes.

Bigger was a highly reviewed movie that showed the rise of body building and the Mr. Olympia competition.  While it may not peak interest from most, it tells an important piece of history.

The Great Alabama Chicken Tender Fender Bender of 2019

Saturday night (1/5) was an exciting day for drivers.

Highway 35 had an 18 wheeler accident where boxes of chicken tenders were spilled all over the highway.  With the cargo unloaded across the lanes, it appears many motorists stopped to pick up some boxes before leaving.  The ones who got the first picks probably got the only semi-safe chicken.

It got so bad with people stopping to pick up the chicken that the local police had to put out a public service announcement.  They warned people that it was illegal to impede traffic and that anybody caught taking the chicken would face charges.

It appears that all chicken was removed from the highway roughly 72 hours after the accident.  We will have to wait an see if there is a spike in hospital visits in this area in the next few days.

Tough Defense Leads to Near Knockout

Another reason why the fans love college hoops more than the NBA.

North Central College faced Augustana College last night where Augustana won 76-59.  While North Central was down, that didn’t stop Sophomore guard Blaise Meredith from playing tough defense. In the clip below, he does a full court sprint down to block a layup.  He also almost manages to knock himself out as well.

Luckily for him, he was fine after a few minutes, but they still lost the game.

Maybe he will make ESPN’s “Not Top 10” at least.
